In 2000 after graduating from college Cookie and Paul made a pact to walk the Continental divide in 2008. They chose 2008 because they figured by then they would have paid off their all student loans (smirks), and they chose the 3,000 mile Continental Divide trail which spans from Mexico all the way to British Columbia purely because it was the longest trail they could find information on.

On May 1st 2008 the two started off on their journey just outside of El Paso, the two cavemen are now just outside of Denver. At their current pace it looks like they will complete their journey sometime about mid November. The terrible twosome carry cell phones which they use to update their blog, and chart their progress via GPS whenever they get a signal.

Cookie and Paul are making the trek to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis, you can donate money securely to their cause here. These guys receive my stamp of approval, what they are doing is the coolest thing since sliced bread, keep it up!

Cheers for the post :) We’re hoping to get to Canada before mid November, it’ll be pretty snowy in Glacier national park by then. Anyhow’s our tourist visas run out it mid October, so we better get walking or we’ll have immigration casing after us!
