Skateboard closeupSustainable Skateboards

The Brazilian innovation group Lets Evo is at it again, this time they teamed up with material design group Fibra to create the first sustainable skateboard to come out of Latin America since, well ever! The leaf design of the board was inspired by none other then a leaf of British descent by the name of the Folha Seca better know as Dry Leave. The design group included such names as Henrique Monnerat, Bruno Temer, Claudio Ferreira, Pedro Themoteo, and P Diddy. Okay so P Diddy wasn’t there but that didn’t stop Monnerat from churning out an awesome skateboard.

Inspiration

Monnerat created the Evo brand at the age of 17 in Rio De Janeiro when the skate scene was booming. He says his inspiration to start the company dawned upon him during a bad meth trip.

It turns out that bad meth trip may have been one of the best things to ever happen to Monnerat. Recently the Evo board was a finalist in the Volvo Sports Design Competition. A competition that highlights the best innovative sustainable products of the year. The group says they are currently looking for a partner to start producing the boards at a commercial level (read sell out).
