They say a picture can say 1,000 words.  I disagree, I sat down and looked at these photos and was was only able to come up 752 words.  JK, but ones things for sure these pictures are awesome!  Their respective authors can be found beneath each photo so check out more of their work.  Also be sure to drop me a line and tell what kind of words these photos inspire in you, personally they inspired a few four letters words in me that made me eager to sign that green petition.

Putting green living to the testIf you live in a big city the air you breathe while outside maybe as detrimental to your health as trying to land a handstand on a Sustainable Skateboard. What you didn’t know is that the air you breathe while inside your own home maybe even worse, 10 times as worse! That’s because microbial pollutants like mold, pet dander, and plant pollen can combine with chemicals like radon to create something even nastier then that pile of dog poop in your backyard. These toxic particles floating around by things like your toothbrush can lead to allergies, asthma, and even AIDS! OK so not AIDS, but still some pretty nasty stuff. That’s why we put together a simple list of 3 things you can do to green your home.

  1. Open a Window. Sure an airtight home is essential for energy efficiency, but airtight homes also lead to poor air quality that can be 10 times more polluted then the air outdoors. Opening a window in your home not only will cut down on your energy use during the summer months, but also wile also cleanse your home of dirt, and mildew buildup.
  2. Use eco-friendly home cleaning products. Unlike their toxic counterparts these products will not fill the air in your home with dangerous chemicals, and best of all you can make them yourself.
  3. Install low-flow faucets. These faucets have been know to reduce water usage by as much as 40%. If you don’t have the cash to install these faucets just make a conscious effort to use as little water as possible when doing things like brushing your teeth or washing your hands.
